STUDENTS' MENTAL HEALTH ANALYSIS REPORT

Background

A survey was recently conducted across a university student community to ascertain the influence of particular mental health disorders such as psychosis, insomnia, and schizophrenia on student academic performance. The analysis considered variables such as CGPA, marital status, present level, and gender.

Key Business Questions

•  Are there any students in the survey that have health issues?

•  What is the gender distribution of students, and how does it differ between departments?

•  Are there students that sought specialists due to health issues?

•  Is there a discernible impact of their health status on their academic performance as measured by their CGPA?

•  What is the distribution of health status among their various levels of study?

Tasks

•  Evaluate the population of students across the survey.

•  Evaluate the age distribution and gender distribution of the students.

•  Evaluate the health status of the students and those that sought specialist care.

•  Examine the impact of their health status on their overall academic performance.

Key Findings

• Several of the students included in this survey experienced health issues.

• Not all of the unwell students sought out me.

• According to their CGPA, students who experienced health issues didn’t exhibit a discernible decline in their academic performance.

CONCLUSIONS

INSOMNIA

• The first year students are affected mainly by Insomnia, while final-year students are least affected

• Banking Studies Department has the highest case of Insomnia among the departments.

• More female students aged 18 and 24, respectively, currently have higher cases of insomnia.

• single students are more affected by insomnia than married students.

• 33 students, representing 97.06%, currently have a CGPA above 3, indicating that insomnia has minimal effect on their academic performance.

PSYCHOSIS

• A higher proportion of female students suffer from psychosis across all departments.

• Year 1 students have the highest cases of psychosis, while Year 4 students have minor psychosis cases.

• Students aged 18 and 19, respectively, have the highest psychotic cases.

• CGPA analysis shows that 32 students, which represent 91.4%, have a CGPA above 3, indicating the illness has minimal influence on their performance.

• There are more single insomnia students than married students.

 

SCHIZOPHRENIA

• Banking Studies Department has the highest cases of Schizophrenia, with 6 female and 3 male students

• First year and Second-year students have the most cases of Schizophrenia

• Female students with Schizophrenia within 3.5 – 4.00 have a higher margin compared with Male students, which indicate they are performing better than Male students.

• Students at 24 years are experiencing the highest cases of Schizophrenia.

• There are more single students with Schizophrenia than married students

 

Overall, 91 out of 100 students have a CGPA above 3, indicating that these illnesses have minimal influence on their academic performance.
